The once-a-year annual Mary Jane McCord Planned Parenthood Book Sale is returning to the Earl Warren Showgrounds from September 10th to the 20th, hosting 200,000 gently used books as well as puzzles, games, vinyl records, CDs, and DVD’s.

Admission is free for the week except for Opening Night. Opening Night takes place September 10th and gives eager attendees first pick for a $30 ticket.

The inventory is replenished every day, and the already low prices are reduced by 50% on the final day. Funds raised support PPCCC’s six health centers across the Central Coast.

The Cambria Center for the Arts (CCA) presents "Mix it Up!", a vibrant mixed media exhibition. This showcase celebrates creativity without boundaries, featuring the innovative work of featured artist Carolyn Chambers. Additionally, works by our local artists exploring diverse materials and techniques and combining media in unexpected ways will be on display.

Exhibit runs: September 1 to November 1.

The Cambria Center for the Arts (CCA) invites the community to view “Here and There" a collection of painterly, aerial views of Cambria and Lake Tahoe by Tigg Morales. The paintings explore and reveal familiar places from a fresh perspective.

The City of Pismo Beach Recreation Division invites the community to enjoy a fun-filled evening under the stars at its Movie in the Park event at Dinosaur Caves Park. The featured film will be GOAT, beginning at 7:15 pm.

The evening offers more than just a movie. Bounce houses will open at 6:00 pm, giving kids an opportunity to play before the film begins, and food will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

The community is invited to enjoy a day of art, music, and festivities while helping protect one of the Central Coast’s most treasured natural wild spaces. Every piece of artwork purchased supports the ongoing stewardship and care of Cuesta Inlet.

Celebrate the rich cultures that make our community so vibrant through the universal language of food! This lively event, hosted by Sichuan Kitchen and the City of San Luis Obispo, features cultural clubs from Cal Poly sharing traditional dishes, information, and customs that reflect their unique heritage. Come explore new flavors, connect with neighbors, and experience how food brings people together across cultures, fostering understanding, belonging, and community—one bite at a time.

This event requires pre-registration because spots are limited. The event will be divided into two 2-hour time blocks (12 to to 2 pm or 2 to 4 pm). You will choose your desired time block upon registration.
